All land borders with Colombia and Peru, as well as ports, remain closed, although Ecuadorean nationals and foreign residents may be allowed to enter Ecuador, via Rumichaca and Huaquillas northern and southern borders. To enter Ecuador, you'll need to either present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within three days of arrival, have an antigen test taken within three days of arrival or present an official vaccination card showing you've received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine (this measure is subject to constant review). You may also be tested for COVID-19 through an antigen test on arrival. If the result is positive, you'll need to quarantine. We continue to advise: Do not travel to Ecuador due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel.
