On 15 November the UK raised its terrorism threat level to severe (second-highest level) - meaning that an attack is highly likely. Be alert and follow the advice of local authorities (see 'Safety'). From 7 December all people aged 12 years and over must take a COVID-19 test in the 2 days before they travel to England whether or not they qualify as fully vaccinated. For the specific test requirements see: UK Government guidance. You must self-isolate on arrival even if you're fully vaccinated. You must take a PCR test before the end of the second day and you can leave self-isolation if you test negative. Requirements for arriving in the UK depend on where you've been, including transits, in the 10 days before you arrive. The UK has a new international travel system which sets out entry requirements. Mongolia has extended its state of high-alert preparedness until 31 March 2022. All border points remain closed except for Chinggis Khan International Airport. On arrival in Mongolia, you must present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within 72 hours. In case of a positive PCR test, the passenger must present proof of recovery from COVID-19 within the last 3 months. All passengers regardless of vaccination status will be required to enter hotel quarantine at their own cost for 3 days and self-isolation for an additional 7 days. Follow the advice of local authorities. We now advise: Reconsider your need to travel to Mongolia due to the impacts of COVID-19.
