Bulgaria
We now advise all Australians not to travel overseas at this time, due to the health risks from the (COVID-19) pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to Bulgaria. If you’re already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means.
The Government has proclaimed a state of emergency until at least 13 April. Screening measures and checks remain in place at airports and sea ports. Airlines have cancelled flights between Bulgaria and Italy (See Travel section). If you are displaying symptoms of the virus, you may be placed under quarantine. Monitor the media for the latest developments and follow the advice of local authorities. Check with the embassy or consulate of the country you are travelling to or through for entry requirement.
