If you’re in Ethiopia and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means. Ethiopian Airlines has limited its destinations and has stopped flights to 30 countries. All land borders are now closed. If you decide to travel to Ethiopia, despite our advice, you'll have to undertake a 14-day quarantine period in a designated hotel at your own cost. If you can't or choose not to leave Ethiopia, follow the advice of local authorities and take care to protect yourself from exposure to COVID-19. Ensure you have arrangements in place for an extended stay, and keep in contact with family and friends back home.
