In response to COVID-19, Germany has intensified border controls at airports and land crossings and introduced restrictions on movement and certain activities in all regions. Public transport services across Germany have been reduced. Hotels are prohibited from accepting new tourist bookings. If you travel to Germany despite our advice, expect more scrutiny on arrival including health checks. Some other countries have imposed travel restrictions, including a ban on entry or quarantine on arrival, for travellers from Germany.
