Israel and the Palestinian Territories
We now advise all Australians to reconsider any non-essential overseas travel at this time, due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
To prevent the spread of COVID−19, Israel and the Palestinian Territories have introduced additional travel restrictions. Israel is denying entry for non-Israeli citizens and residents coming from a number of countries affected by COVID-19. If you are permitted entry into Israel, you will be required to undertake 14-days home quarantine on arrival. Home quarantine cannot be undertaken in a hotel.
On 6 March, the Palestinian Authority announced a month long state of emergency for COVID-19. Tourist and religious sites will be closed, and the hotel reservations of foreign tourists will be cancelled. The Palestinian Authority may also impose quarantine if you're entering the West Bank or Gaza from a range of countries.
Further stringent restrictions may be imposed. Check with your airline, tour operator or the nearest Israeli embassy or Palestinian representative office for the latest information.
