Latvia
We now advise all Australians not to travel overseas at this time, due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to Latvia. If you’re already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means.
Latvia has declared a state of emergency until Easter. The Latvian Government has suspended all international passenger transportation from 17 March until 14 April. Further measures include school closures and a ban on public gatherings of more than 200 people. Those returning to Latvia from abroad must observe self-isolation by staying home for a 14-day quarantine. If you choose to travel to Latvia despite our advice then check with your travel provider for information on disruptions and follow the advice of local authorities.
