New Caledonia
Tropical Cyclone Gretel is currently passing near New Caledonia. Deteriorating conditions are expected. Follow the advice of local authorities and monitor the situation. We continue to advise all Australians to reconsider any non-essential overseas travel, due to the health risks from the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and disruptions to global travel. New Caledonia has implemented new entry measures in response to COVID-19. Expect increased screening at airports, and possible self-quarantine or isolation. If arriving by ship, you won’t be able to leave it if you've visited certain countries in the past two weeks. If there is a risk of COVID-19 on a ship, no one will be allowed to disembark. Check with your airline, cruise or tour operator to confirm you meet entry requirements and for changes in schedules. See Travel.
We now advise you to:
Reconsider your need to travel to New Caledonia.
