New Caledonia

We now advise all Australians not to travel overseas at this time, due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to New Caledonia. If you’re already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means.

New Caledonia is preparing to cease all commercial flights (with the exception of those directly linking it to metropolitan France). Should you wish to depart New Caledonia, we recommend you do so at the earliest opportunity. If you choose to travel to New Caledonia despite our advice, be aware that new entry measures are in place and all incoming passengers are now subject to a mandatory 14-day self-isolation period. Cruise ships are banned from arriving in New Caledonia until further notice. Check with your airline, cruise or tour operator to confirm you meet entry requirements and for any changes or cancellations to travel schedules. See Travel.

We now advise you to:

Do not travel to New Caledonia.
