Philippines
The Philippines has introduced new measures to contain the spread of COVID-19. It has declared a State of Public Health Emergency, and put in place domestic travel restrictions in and out of Metro Manila. There are also travel bans from any country that has reported cases of local transmission of COVID-19, except for Filipinos, their dependants and permanent residents. We now advise you to 'reconsider your need to travel' to The Philippines at this time. Due to these circumstances, the Foreign Minister has offered to support the voluntary departure of dependants of Australian embassy staff. Follow the advice of local authorities and consider commercial departure options. Check with your airline, tour operator or the nearest Philippines embassy for the latest update.
We have raised our level of advice for Philippines to reconsider your need to travel overall.
Higher levels of advice are in place for some parts of the country.
