We now advise all Australians not to travel overseas at this time, due to the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel. This includes to Turkey. If you’re already overseas and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means. Authorities have confirmed (COVID-19) is present in Turkey. New entry restrictions have been introduced in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. You may be denied entry to Turkey if you've travelled to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Iraq in the last 14 days. You can leave Turkey, but be aware many flights are being cancelled. Expect additional health screening at entry points. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you may be quarantined. Check with your airline, tour operator or the nearest Turkish embassy for the latest on entry requirements.
