Egypt
Flights to and from Egypt are suspended. There are still some charter flights. If you're a visitor to Egypt, take advantage of these to leave as soon as possible. Don’t delay as charter options are limited and may reduce further. Follow the Australian Embassy social media accounts for updates. If you're a long-term resident, consider whether you have the support mechanisms you may need over the coming months. If in doubt, return to Australia while there are still flights. The Australian Government has no plans to evacuate you.
If you decide to stay in Egypt, follow the advice of local authorities, minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19 and ensure you have arrangements in place for an extended stay. A nightly curfew is in place between 9pm and 6am. Don't leave your accommodation during the curfew. If you break curfew, you may be fined or imprisoned. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you're safe. Register with the Australian Embassy at consular.cairo@dfat.gov.au to receive information directly.
