South Africa

All domestic and international travel remains prohibited. Borders are closed. There's a nation-wide lockdown in place. During this period, you'll be largely confined to your place of residence. You can go out to buy essential food, groceries and medical supplies, seek medical assistance and undertake essential financial payments at banks. If you go out you will be required to wear a cloth mask at all times. If you're in South Africa, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you're safe and well. Follow the Australian High Commission's website and social media for updates and register with the High Commission at consular.pretoria@dfat.gov.au for regular updates.

We advise you:

Do not travel to South Africa.
