Turkey

From midnight on Friday 17 April to midnight Sunday 19 April, 31 provinces across Turkey will impose a 48-hour curfew for the entire weekend. You must stay home during this 48-hour period, except in an emergency. Weekend curfews may become a regular occurrence. An additional curfew applies for people aged over 60 and under 20, and those with a chronic medical condition. Turkey has suspended all international flights. Extremely limited flight options may still be available. Follow the Australian Embassy on social media for regular updates (see Local contacts). Domestic travel has also been restricted. You must wear a mask in crowded places, including in supermarkets and markets, on public transport, and in private vehicles containing two or more people. If you're staying in Turkey, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Stay in touch with family and friends so they know you're safe and well. If you need urgent consular assistance call +61 2 6261 3305.

We now advise you to:

Do not travel to Turkey.
