Egypt
There is a curfew from 9pm to 6am. The curfew will change to 5pm to 6am during Eid from 24-29 May. All public transport and travel between governorates is suspended. Shops, restaurants, and public spaces are closed. Flights to and from Egypt remain suspended. There are still some charter flights. If you're a visitor to Egypt, take advantage of these to leave as soon as possible. Don’t delay as charter options are limited and may reduce further. Follow the Australian Embassy social media accounts for updates. If you're a long-term resident, consider whether you have the support mechanisms you may need over the coming months. If in doubt, return to Australia while there are still flights. The Australian Government has no plans to evacuate you. Register with the Australian Embassy at consular.cairo@dfat.gov.au to receive information directly.
We advise you:
Do not travel to to Egypt.
