Spain

Spain has closed its land, sea and air borders to non-residents. The majority of hotels and alternative accommodation in Spain are closed. A State of Alarm is in place that limits movement throughout the country and restricts public transport services. The government has announced a gradual easing of restrictions and reopening of businesses from 4 May. Taxis continue to operate. If you're in Spain and want to return to Australia, check your route carefully with your airline as a number of key transit hubs are closed or severely restricted. If you intend to stay in Spain, follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of exposure to COVID-19. Follow the Australian Embassy social media accounts for regular updates on flight options for leaving Spain. See Local contacts for links.

We advise you:

Do not travel to Spain.
