Switzerland

Switzerland has closed its borders for tourism. Unless you arrive from Liechtenstein or meet an exception, you won't be allowed to enter. You can still transit through Switzerland, unless border authorities suspect you won't be able to leave. Some secondary border crossings have reopened on a time-limited basis. This is in addition to the main border crossings that were already open. Entry restrictions for work purposes were eased from 11 May, with family reunification in Switzerland also being possible for Swiss and EU/EFTA citizens. Shops, restaurants, markets, museums and libraries are open. Public transport is operating on normal schedule. The ban on leaving Switzerland to shop in neighbouring countries remains in place. You'll still have to comply with strict hygiene and social distancing rules.

We advise you:

Do not travel to Switzerland.
