Switzerland

Switzerland has restricted movement across its borders. Unless you arrive from Liechtenstein, or meet an exception, you won't be allowed to enter. You can't come to Switzerland for tourism. You can still transit through Switzerland, unless border authorities suspect you won't be able to leave. Some secondary border crossings have reopened on a time-limited basis. This is in addition to the main border crossings that were already open. From 16 May travel restrictions eased for some specific situations between Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Entry restrictions for work purposes were eased from 11 May, with family reunification in Switzerland also being possible for Swiss and EU/EFTA citizens. See Travel for more details. Shops, restaurants, markets, museums and libraries are open. Public transport is operating on normal schedule. The ban on leaving Switzerland to shop in neighbouring countries remains in place. You'll still have to comply with strict hygiene and social distancing rules.

We advise you:

Do not travel to Switzerland.
