Uganda

If you're interested in commercial flight opportunities from your location to get back to Australia, register with the Australian High Commission in Nairobi by emailing consular.nairobi@dfat.gov.au. Uganda has imposed a nationwide curfew from 7.00pm to 6.30am every day until further notice. Essential services including food stores, banks and private security remain open, other non-essential services are gradually re-opening. Public and private transport is suspended and Uganda has closed its borders. Permission for emergency use of private vehicles must be sought from your local Resident District Commissioner. Gatherings of more than five people are banned and it is compulsory to wear masks in public. If you show symptoms of COVID-19, expect local authorities to quarantine you. If you're staying in Uganda, follow the advice of local authorities, make arrangements for an extended stay and take care to protect yourself from exposure to COVID-19. Monitor the media for information on latest developments. Stay in touch with friends and family so they know you're safe and well.

We now advise you:

Do not travel to Uganda.
