United Kingdom

To help Australians get home, limited flights are currently available from London to Australia. If you're in the UK and wish to leave, do so while commercial options are available. Check Qantas and other airlines to find available seats. Follow the Australian High Commission on social media for regular updates on flights leaving the UK. If you' re transiting the UK, you may need to show proof that you have an onward flight booked. From 8 June, if you arrive in the UK you will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. You'll be contacted regularly throughout this period to ensure compliance. You may face enforcement action if you don't comply. See Travel for more information. Key transit hubs have suspended transit flights. Check your route with your airline or travel agent. The UK remains in lockdown, however on 11 May the UK Government announced some restrictions in place are gradually easing. You should still stay at home except in the limited circumstances specified by the Prime Minister, listed here: gov.uk/coronavirus. The devolved governments of Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales continue to direct citizens and visitors to follow their own public health guidance (see Travel). Police have powers to enforce these rules.

We advise you:

Do not travel to the United Kingdom.
