The Philippines has reinstated Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) in the National Capital Region, including Manila and southern Luzon provinces for COVID-19. Inter-island travel is banned and only essential movement is permitted. If you’re in a MECQ area, you’ll need a quarantine pass to leave your accommodation. Cebu Island is under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ), and Cebu, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue Cities are under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). Other provinces are introducing similar restrictions (see 'Travel'). Follow the advice of local authorities and monitor Australian Ambassador's social media and the embassy website for major updates.
