United Kingdom

If you’re in the UK and your visa expired between 24 January and 31 July 2020, you’ll now be given an extra month's grace (until 31 August) to leave the UK. The grace period also applies if your visa is expiring in August. If you intend to leave the UK but aren't able to do so by 31 August, you may request additional time to stay, which is known as 'exceptional assurance'. The grant of an assurance doesn't grant you leave but will act as a short-term protection against any adverse action or consequences after your leave has expired. You may be required to submit proof that you are unable to depart the UK through no fault of your own. There are entry requirements for incoming travellers, including a mandatory period of isolation, unless you've spent the past 14 days in countries listed as exempt from self-isolation. Transit restrictions may also apply (see 'Travel').

We advise:

Do not travel to the United Kingdom.
