Malawi
Malawi has declared a state of disaster in response to COVID-19. The International Airport in Lilongwe has reopened but flights are infrequent. To enter Malawi, you must produce a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test taken within 10 days before you arrive in country. You'll also need to provide samples for COVID-19 testing at the airport on arrival and self-isolate for 14 days. You must also complete ‘Travel Surveillance Forms’ for follow up by government health officials. Land borders are closed except for cargo and returning residents. The Australian Embassy in Harare continues to provide limited consular services. You can email the Embassy at consular.Harare@dfat.gov.au.
We advise:
Do not travel to Malawi.
