PNG may impose additional restrictions due to COVID-19, including lockdowns, at short notice. A curfew is in place between midnight and 5am in the National Capital District in Port Moresby. Masks or face coverings are mandatory in enclosed public spaces, aircraft and public transport. There is a maximum limit of 50 people gathering in public spaces. Domestic air travel is limited to essential purposes only. You can't enter the country unless you have an exemption from PNG authorities and have returned a negative COVID-19 Test (Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test) within seven days prior to your arrival (see Visas).
