United Kingdom

If you intend to leave the UK but aren't able to do so, because of travel restrictions or self-isolation related to COVID-19, and you have a visa or leave that expires between 24 January and 30 September 2020, you may request additional time to stay. This is known as 'exceptional assurance'. The grant of an assurance doesn't grant you leave but will act as a short-term protection against any adverse action or consequences after your leave has expired. You'll be required to submit proof that you are unable to depart the UK through no fault of your own. If you do require longer and/or are unable to leave the UK by the assurance date given, you must reapply nearer to this date. There are entry requirements for incoming travellers, including a mandatory period of isolation, unless you've spent the past 14 days in countries listed as exempt from self-isolation. Transit restrictions may also apply (see 'Travel').

We advise:

Do not travel to the United Kingdom.
