Mali
Overland travel may be affected by restrictions imposed in response to the Ebola epidemic in Guinea. Air and land borders are open with enhanced screening and quarantine measures in place. To enter or leave Mali, you'll either need to present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test certificate, taken no more than 72 hours before travel, or be tested on arrival at the airport (see ‘Travel’). The Australian High Commission in Accra has very limited capacity to provide consular assistance in Mali.
We haven’t changed our level of advice:
Do not travel to Mali due to the national state of emergency, and the high risk of terrorism and kidnapping. This includes the capital, Bamako.
