Chad
Following hostilities in the North of Chad and the potential for further deterioration of the security situation, Australians in Chad should remain vigilant in all parts of the country and review their own emergency arrangements. Political gatherings and demonstrations may turn violent. There are limited commercial flights into and from N'Djamena airport. If you travel to Chad, you'll need to show a negative COVID-19 test taken within the last 72 hours. On arrival, you'll have to surrender your passport to authorities while you maintain a period of self-isolation. You must wear a face mask when outdoors.
We continue to advise:
Do not travel to Chad due to:
- the significant risk of terrorist attack
- the health risks from the COVID-19 pandemic and the significant disruptions to global travel.
