The second round of general elections is scheduled for 11 April 2021. Demonstrations could occur before, during and after the elections. Avoid areas where demonstrations or protests are occurring and follow the advice of local authorities. To enter Ecuador, you'll need to either present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within 3 days of arrival, have an antigen test taken within 3 days of arrival or present a vaccination card showing you've received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. You may also be tested for COVID-19 through an antigen test on arrival, and if the result is positive, you'll need to quarantine.
