To depart PNG for Australia, you must have a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours of your travel. If you’re departing on a commercial flight from Jackson International Airport in Port Moresby, you must undertake a COVID-19 PCR test before boarding your flight. This test is free and meets your COVID-19 test requirement to enter Australia. Check with your airline for details and arrive at the airport early. If you or someone you’re travelling with tests positive for COVID-19, you won’t be allowed to travel to Australia unless you have proof you’re no longer unwell. There is widespread community transmission of COVID-19 in most districts and provinces. COVID-19 is a serious health risk and is impacting the capacity of local health services. Follow the advice of local authorities and minimise your risk of infection.
