Laikipia County has been declared a ‘dangerous and disturbed’ area by the Kenyan Government following attacks by armed bandits. The government has launched a security operation. A curfew is in place from 6pm to 6am for Laikipia Nature Conservancy and its neighbourhood. Significant security operations are ongoing in the region, particularly in the Ol Moran area. We recommend against non-essential travel to the county until the situation stabilises. A nationwide curfew and other COVID-19 restrictions remain in place. All public and political gatherings are banned. Adhere to restrictions and follow the advice of authorities. Monitor the media for latest developments on COVID-19.
