Ecuador

There's a 60-day state of emergency due to an increase in violence and drug trafficking activity in Ecuador. Expect movement delays due to additional security checks and potential road closures. All land borders with Colombia and Peru, as well as ports, remain closed. Ecuadorean nationals and foreign residents may be allowed to enter Ecuador, via Rumichaca and Huaquillas northern and southern borders. To enter Ecuador, you'll need to either present a negative COVID-19 (PCR) test result taken within three days of arrival, have an antigen test taken within three days of arrival or present an official vaccination card showing you've received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine (see Travel).

We now advise:

Reconsider your need to travel to Ecuador overall due to the impacts of COVID-19.
