Iceland

Iceland's borders are only open to travellers from EU/EEA and Schengen states, and approved countries, including Australia. If you're not an Icelandic citizen and you don't have strong ties to Iceland, you must register before arrival and provide a negative COVID-19 test result. The test should be taken no more than 72 hours before departing for Iceland. If you're not vaccinated and you don't have proof you've recovered from COVID-19, you must take two COVID-19 (PCR) tests in Iceland, with 5 days quarantine between tests. Children born in 2005 or later are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. Iceland generally accepts Australian, UK and EU vaccination certificates, among others. Face masks must be worn when social distancing at 1m is not possible, including in shops, and on domestic and international flights.

We now advise:

Exercise a high degree of caution in Iceland due to impacts of COVID-19.
