Community transmission of COVID-19 continues in Portugal. Portugal has lifted many COVID-19 restrictions as vaccination targets are met but more could be reintroduced over winter. Follow the advice of local authorities. All travellers aged 12 and over must have a negative COVID-19 test or a recognised vaccination certificate, such as the EU Digital Certificate before boarding a flight to Portugal. Individuals aged 12 years and over must show a valid COVID-19 test or recognised vaccination certificate to enter certain venues. Australian vaccination certificates are accepted for entry into Portugal and into certain public venues (see 'Travel').
