Zimbabwe
We now advise ‘Do not travel’ (Level 4 of 4) to Zimbabwe due to COVID-19 health risks and disruptions to global travel. The new COVID-19 ‘Omicron’ variant of concern has been detected in Zimbabwe. From 27 November, Australian citizens, permanent residents or their immediate family who have been in Zimbabwe in the past 14 days must undergo quarantine for two weeks on return to Australia, regardless of vaccination status. From 1 December, returning residents and visitors arriving in Zimbabwe must have with them a PCR test taken within 48 hours of travel. You'll be tested on arrival and placed into a government quarantine centre for 10 days, at your own cost. This applies even if you've returned a negative COVID-19 test. You'll be required to take further PCR tests on day 7 or 8. If you return a positive PCR test, you'll need to quarantine for 14 days. Australians in need of emergency consular assistance should contact the Australian Government 24-hour Consular Emergency Centre +61 2 6261 3305.
