Additional entry requirements are in place in response to the Omicron COVID-19 variant. You must show evidence of a COVID-19 (RT-PCR) test taken 48 hours before your travel to Malaysia. Quarantine requirements vary according to your vaccination status. You're not permitted to enter Malaysia as a tourist except for travel to Langkawi Island under the international tourism bubble (see 'Travel'). Travel requirements for the tourism bubble may change at short notice. Check with your travel agent, Malaysian High Commission or Consulate-General in Australia or Malaysian authorities, before making plans to travel to Langkawi. Everyone except long term pass holders must get prior approval from the Malaysian Government before entering Malaysia.
