Vietnam
Vietnam is gradually opening its borders to foreign travellers. Regular international commercial flights have started operating. You'll need to take a COVID-19 (rapid antigen) test at your port of arrival. You may need to isolate in a centralised quarantine facility if you return a positive test. Strict treatment and quarantine measures are applied for all COVID cases and close contacts. Travel around the country is extremely challenging. Entry, quarantine and social distancing measures vary between provinces. Measures change at short notice and may impact your ability to travel and access essential services. Follow the advice of local authorities. Police and armed forces, in some locations, are enforcing these measures. You could be fined or detained for breaching these rules. The Australian Embassy’s ability to provide consular services for people taken into central treatment or quarantine is extremely limited. Monitor the Australian Embassy's social media for major updates.
We advise:
Reconsider your need to travel to Vietnam due to the impacts of COVID-19.
