Rwanda
To enter Rwanda, you must complete a passenger locator form and upload a negative COVID-19 test (RAT) or (PT-PCR) certificate taken within 72 hours of departure. An additional COVID-19 test (RAT) will be taken on arrival at your own cost (Frw 5,000 or $US 5). If you're eligible (12 years and above) for the COVID-19 vaccine, you're encouraged to be fully vaccinated before travel. Face masks aren't mandatory outdoors but are recommended indoors. Rwanda has a zero-tolerance policy for exporting positive COVID-19 cases. If you test positive for COVID-19 on arrival or during your time in Rwanda (even if you're fully vaccinated), the severity of your symptoms determine if you isolate in a government-run treatment centre or a hotel, at your own cost. You'll not be permitted to leave Rwanda until you receive a negative test result. Ongoing changes to restrictions are anticipated. Follow the advice of local authorities.
We advise:
Exercise a high degree of caution in Rwanda overall due to the threat of violence and crime.
