Ethiopia

We've reviewed our advice for Ethiopia. We haven't changed the overall level, reconsider your need to travel. The security situation in Ethiopia remains uncertain. Some areas have an increased risk and we have raised the level of advice. We continue to advise do not travel to the Regional States of Tigray, bordering areas of Amhara and Afar States, Somali region and most international land borders. We now advise do not travel to East and West Wollega in Oromia Region or Metekel Zone of Benishangul Gumuz Regional State.

Reconsider your need to travel to Ethiopia due to ongoing civil unrest and armed conflicts in the north of the country and the risk of them spreading to new areas without warning.
