On 7 January 2023, Mount Marapi in West Sumatra erupted. Indonesian authorities have imposed a 3km exclusion zone around the area at this time. Avoid the area and follow the advice of local authorities. Indonesian Parliament has passed revisions to its criminal code, which includes penalties for cohabitation and sex outside of marriage.
