Thailand
General elections will be held on Sunday 14 May. Smaller-scale advance voting will take place on Sunday 7 May. No major disruptions to public services are expected. Alcohol sales will be banned throughout Thailand on the day of early voting (from 6pm on 6 May until 6pm on 7 May) and on Election Day (from 6pm on 13 May to 6pm on 14 May).
We advise:
Exercise a high degree of caution to Thailand overall due to the possibility of civil unrest and the threat of terrorist attack, including in Bangkok and Phuket.
Higher levels apply in some areas.
