Tropical Cyclone Biparjoy is due to make landfall in the east of Sindh province on 14 June. Heavy rainfall, strong winds and storm surges are likely. Essential services may be disrupted. Evacuations of coastal areas are underway. If you're in an affected area, follow the advice of local authorities and monitor local weather and media for updates.

There are ongoing protests in Pakistan. Avoid demonstrations and protests. These can turn violent. The security situation is evolving and remains unpredictable. Authorities may suspend internet and mobile phone networks and close roads and highways at short notice. Transit to and from Islamabad International Airport may be impeded by protest activity. Monitor media for information on the latest developments and follow the instructions of local authorities. See Safety. Terrorist groups hostile to foreign interests operate in Pakistan. The threat of attack remains very high. We continue to advise reconsider your need to travel to Pakistan and do not travel to some areas of Pakistan. Reporting since late 2022 has identified the potential for increased attacks in Islamabad, including at major hotels. In response, heightened security arrangements are in place, including an increased security force presence and additional checkpoints. Australian officials in Islamabad have been advised to increase vigilance and limit travel within the city.
